It was a hugely moving sight to have the whole school in church today for their Remembrance Service. They had learnt to sing Jerusalem which they did with great enthusiasm! The service was led almost entirely by Year 6 who had written very insightful and poignant poems and prayers.
The children helped Col Toler build a drumhead altar and put on genuine WW1 equimpnet to show everyone the type uniform worn and equipment used.
Everyone stood respectfully for the two minutes silence then followed Year 6 to the War Memorial where wreaths were laid.
What a pleasure it was to have the children with us in church today and we thank them for the serious and appropriate way they behaved,
