UFO sighted at Kelvedon? No – It’s our new playground canopy

Four years ago, a group Grand Design fans and architectural enthusiasts from our school visited The Design Museum and London to gain inspiration for improving our school.

EVERY idea that they had has now been incorporated into the school! The last piece of that particular jigsaw was our new playground canopy.

After seeing Hay’s Galleria the children said “why can’t we have a covered playground – no more wet play times?”

I searched for years to find a solution, but nothing was quite right. Then on a visit to The View Garden Centre, Rayleigh, I saw exactly what I was looking for.

The owner of View was very kind and helped me to make contact with Polybuild who made the structure.

Our fabulous PTFA, led by Mrs Burnford, said that they would fund the project and Mrs Barker and Mrs Smale sorted everything out – ABUNTU! ABUNTU!
