Indoor Athletics

Following our jumping last week, Year 2 began to explore throwing for indoor athletics.

Using accurate throwing, the first activity required the children to land a bean bag in each hoop.  Three hoops had been placed at differing distances and with only three bean bags this was quite tricky!  The second activity replicated one completed by the Year 5/6 in a recent competition.  The children stand with one foot in front of the other and with a slightly weighted ball produce a throw with a chest pass.  The length of the throw is measured to see who can throw the furthest. The final activity involved throwing and catching either with a handball or a scoop and ball.

Great effort was made by everyone and lovely to see different skills being explored.
