This week we have been focusing on short vowel sounds a, e, i, o, u (hat, pet, rabbit, rock, stuck) and long vowel sounds. It is really important that the children can hear the difference and spot them when reading as a lot of spelling rules are linked to short and long vowel sounds. For example this weeks spelling rule ck and k for the ending of words.
