On this day last year!

What a difference a year makes.

On 15th April 2019 I made it to Everest Base Camp.

At 17,600 ft or 5,380 m time has eased the memory of the difficulties of functioning at such an altitude and the sickness I had. I now have happy memories of the wonderful Nepalese people and the stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains.

Base Camp in the distance, Mount Everest is to the right (out of sight) above the Khumbu Icefall.
Cold, exhausted and feeling groggy – but I made it!
The Base Camp cairn.
The Kelvedon School House Ties on the cairn flags.
One of the stunning views on the trek down.
We had to cross ‘Indiana Jones’ style rope bridges above deep ravines.
One of the remarkable ‘iron men’ Sherpa’s who carried absolutely everything each village needed on his back.
Another tough guy!
Tengboche Monastery.
