Partitioning

We have been focusing on partitioning in class.

Using place value columns, some of us had the challenge of finding as many ways to make a number as possible.

We had counters that could represent either a one or a ten. We placed the counters into the different columns (hundres, tens or ones) to make either a one, two or three digit number. We found for three counters and three columns that we could make 10 numbers!
