Dear Parents and Carers,
If you were unable to attend the meeting this afternoon, please see the slides here.
There were a couple of questions raised at the end that you may find helpful:
Bringing snack into school – Our fruit delivery has started up again so we have fresh fruit and vegetables every other day for the children to choose from. If you would like to send a snack in with your child, we would request that this is also a healthy choice.
Reading in school – We will be regularly reading with the children in class, both as individuals and in group reading sessions. We will be providing ideas about ways you can further support reading at home (now we are only sending books home on Monday and Thursday) in due course.
What are the topics planned for the year – Our current topic is based around Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We are basing our writing and PSHE around the themes raised in the story. The topics for the rest of the year can be found here.
How will we be addressing gaps the children might have – As with the start of every year, we always look at where the children are academically so we can best support their learning. This year, there is a greater focus on this assessment nationally. We will be doing this assessment as part of our normal teaching practice. If we have any specific concerns we will contact you directly.https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/2PACX-1vTQij_kllVFJUitbNYWLnRl14N1GP1wFSCFY_92CZhdQT1_si8JoqNuC9uv0_bJeglDY73d59foOE-p/pub?start=false&loop=false&delayms=3000
