Water in the Islamic religion

Our topic this half term is all about Blue Planet and water. Last week we found out about water in Christianity and Father Simon showed the children how water is used during a baptism ceremony.

This week, we investigated the Islamic religion and how Muslims use water when completing ‘Wudu’ – the process of cleaning and cleansing the body before prayer.

The children were given the choices as to whether they wanted to have a go at seeing what is was like to complete Wudu – some joined in and some preferred to listen and watch. Next week, we will be looking at water in Hinduism and Judaism.

Here are some photos of today’s lesson.
