Thursday 26th March 2020 – Learning Tasks

Good morning year 4.

Here are your learning tasks for the day. These are learning ideas. We all have different resources at home so feel to take the learning where ever you choose. You are also more than welcome to try the learning on other year groups blogs to recap and extend your learning.

Maths: fractions of amounts – my maths

English: speech marks

Other: gymnastics

Here is some additional information if required:

Maths: continuing with the theme of fractions, try the My Maths tasks that have been set. If it is too tricky, try 1/2 and a 1/4 of easier, even numbers. If you find you need more of a challenge, use bigger numbers but smaller fractions.

Here is a video to remind you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4DL4UleRuI

English: write a conversation between two characters. Here is a recap of speech rules: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zvftsbk

You could use this Harry Potter scene as inspiration:

Other: create your own gymnastic routine to a piece of music.  Try using a range of balance, rolls and jumps. Here is an example of different jumping movements (please be safe with these). Research some balances and rolls too. Why not create your routine to the Harry Potter theme tune…? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htaj3o3JD8I

Could you perform your routine outside? Could you film it and send it to your friends and family? I’m sure it would brighten their day! Could you keep it on a memory stick to show us when we return to school? This routine could keep you busy for hours and hours. Remember to stretch and warm up – why not try Joe Wick’s workout @ 9am first?

Wishing you a happy and sunny day!
