Another busy week in year five at Kelvedon!
The children have been completing their Spring term assessments and both Mrs Colgrave and I have been impressed with the positive attitude and resilience the children have shown. These tests (in reading and numeracy) are important because: they help us to give accurate assessments to your children; identify the taught concepts that have been fully mastered and also highlight the areas of the curriculum where future teaching is needed. They are also useful to help prepare the children for future tests taken next year. The children also completed an independent piece of story writing based on our Disney topic.
Our production of ‘The circle of life’ is coming along nicely and the children have been busy learning some well-known songs, practising their lines and perfecting their acting. Thank you to the parents who have helped their child to find a suitable costume – we can really see the effort that has gone into this and we are very grateful.
Have a good weekend.
