Here is a copy of the information sent out today about next half term’s 11+ support sessions.
After the Easter holidays, we will be running some weekly 11+ support sessions, during school time, for those children who wish to sit the 11+ examination next September. These sessions will give the children the opportunity to become more familiar with the style of questions they may encounter in the papers and to also learn certain exam techniques. These sessions will be delivered by Mr Taylor and Miss Baker.
The 11+ examination is very challenging; hard work and a solid skill base is needed to pass and each year only a very small percentage of children secure a place at grammar school.
The style of grammar school education does not suit every learner.
Children expressing an interest in this support will sit an assessment paper for reading, writing and maths. Their results will be fed back to you to help you to decide whether you think it is suitable and beneficial for your child to attend these sessions.
If you feel your child is already working ahead of age-related expectations in reading, writing and maths, and displays good learning resilience, and you would like them to sit this initial 11+ assessment, then please complete the slip below.
