‘Fake News’

5F spent yesterday’s PSHE lesson investigating the reliability of information on the internet. We discussed how it is important to check how up-to-date information on the internet is; use several sources to determine the accuracy of what they read and to keep an eye out for fraudulent advertising. We also touched on how some websites might try and add viruses to a computer so to be careful.

Top tips:

  • use several websites (sources) when researching information
  • if something seems too good to be true, it probably is
  • if you are unsure whether you should click on something, ask an adult.
  • if you are worried about something on the internet, stop using it.

Finally, we discussed the importance of not believing everything you read or hear as this can be how rumours start to be spread.
