25.3.20 – Home Learning

Good Morning everyone!

Hope you’re all well and keeping safe.

Try out the following work for today:

Maths:

Today you’re going to be looking at how many ways you can measure certain objects/spaces around the house without using a ruler or measuring device. This could be: how many feet is the length of my living room/how many pencils is the length of a table?

EXT: Find out the measurement of your feet in cm (using a ruler/tape measure) and then you can find out the length of your living room without measuring it with a ruler/tape measure. You could try this will different objects and spaces as well. Record your findings on a chart or on excel.

English:

Today you are going to add to your research and notes from yesterday by looking at a video about your chosen astronaut. Please ask your adults first but you should be able to find a video on YouTube about them. After a quick search I found this one:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=buzz+aldrin+biography

If you can’t find one about your chosen astronaut you may want to watch a video about another one or just continue your research from yesterday.

Art:

Your task is to draw what you see when you look out the window. Choose a window around the house where it is safe to position yourself and just draw exactly what you can see. You need to remember to look closely so that you can pick out certain details and this activity shouldn’t be over in a few minutes. You may choose to add colour to your picture or just to leave it black and white but remember to add shading where possible.

Mid-week Quote:

“If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” — Roald Dahl

Have a great day,
