Today, Year 5 made Aish Baladi (traditional Egyptian flatbread). We mixed water and dried yeast, and then added whole wheat flour. After folding everything together, we left the dough for a couple of hours before separating into small balls and flattening out on a baking tray. Finally, we put the dough in the oven.
We had great fun baking our bread and Year 5 were very impressed with their finished flatbreads (even if they weren’t very flat!). We enjoyed our bread with various dips; with guacamole dividing the class!
