Today, some of 6T discovered what we thought was a dead lizard on the playground. However, once we put it somewhere quiet and gave it shelter and water, it recovered.
As a class, we took the opportunity to investigate further and now we believe it was a newt. We learnt that they pretend to play dead to protect themselves from predators. Afterwards, we carefully returned it to the pond area so that it was in its natural habitat.
