Children’s Mental Health Week: Zentangle
Lots of people are finding that expressing themselves through art helps them with their mental health and wellbeing. Zentangle, teaches us not to rush and to take good care of ourselves in the present moment. It can also help us to reduce stress and can make things seem less difficult when we are feeling anxious.
You may remember that we looked at Zentangle during art last term when you all created some amazing BIG hair designs using this technique.
Your task is to use Zentangle to create a picture of an animal (you might even be inspired by your own pet if you have one as they have helped lots of us during lockdown). There is a videolink to remind you what to do and also some images that you may wish to use for inspiration. If you wish to add colour, you can.
We look forward to seeing your creations Year 6.
Keep calm and Zentangle on!
Now that you have planned your supermarket, hired the staff and sorted their wages, it is time to think about how to advertise it and stock it full of goodies to sell!
Today you are going to create a newspaper advertisement which will be used in the local press publications. Think about what is the purpose of an advert and how does it do its job effectively?
Your advert can be hand drawn or word processed – we look forward to being enticed to visit your supermarket!
Today, you are going to visit the Wholesalers to buy stock to sell in your shop. A Wholesalers is a huge shop where you buy stock in bulk – this means you have to buy lots of things at one time. That way, you get the cheaper prices. You can then sell these items in your shop for more money and make lots of profit!
I have included a modelled example sheet so you can see how to organise your information. What you buy is up to you. You also have to decide upon the price per set of items then work out the other calculations that are required.
There is also a blank spreadsheet attached, for you to complete, if you find that useful.

Good luck, as the numbers you choose now, will affect how much profit your shop will make next week.

Message of the day:
“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.”
Buddha – was a philosopher, mendicant, meditator, spiritual teacher, and religious leader who lived in Ancient India.
