Dear Parent/Carer,
We are writing to advise you about your child’s Year 6 Revision Pack. With the Year 6 Key Stage 2 SAT’s (Week Beginning 9th May 2022) fast approaching, we feel that it is fundamental that over the remaining weeks, your child keeps their mind active with the learning that they have been receiving over the last two terms so that they can achieve their best.
It is important that your child gets a chance to have a break over Easter Holiday, re-charge their batteries and relax away from school as they have worked very hard this term. However, we would like them to spend some time on these previous KS2 Tests over the next five weeks (prior to the SATs) as it will help your child identify any learning they would like help with. Please encourage your child to let their teacher know if they have forgotten any concepts or terminology so we can go over it together.
A guide to how well your child is doing:
Green Level (where Year 6 children should be):
Maths: 30/40 Arithmetic 15/35 for each reasoning paper (60/110 is the target score to beat)
English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 33/50 the target score to beat.
Blue Level (above where Y6 children should be):
Maths: 36/40 Arithmetic 30/35 for each reasoning paper (96/110 is the target score to beat)
English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 45/50 the target score to beat.
If your child wants to look at the last two years SAT papers that we have used this year, we have uploaded the papers via the link below. Additionally, there are some extra mental maths questions, 2017 and 2016 SATs papers for Maths, if your child wants to challenge themselves further.
