In our Phonics sessions, we are learning sounds and ‘pressing the buttons’ to sound them and blend them together.
When we are reading books, we are spotting tricky words and using the initial sound and picture clue to read the word, e.g P for pirates, c for cave. These words cannot be sounded out so we need another strategy.
