Numicon in a sock

We play lots of games to practise mathematical skills, such as number recognition, calculating, shape and measure. The games help us to apply our skills. Today, some of us played a game where we had to guess the Numicon hidden in the sock. Some of us guessed what it was, some of us counted by feeling the holes and some of us used the shape to help us. We showed some good thinking skills!

“It’s a little one”

“That’s easy…1!”

“It’s quite a big number I think”

“It’s got one more at the top”

“It’s a rectangle shape”

“There’s 2, 2 and 1 more…5”

“It’s a corner shape”

“That’s a square…it must be 4”
