We are always practising our counting skills! We can count in 1s and we are learning to count in 2s and 10s. We need to remember to count left to right, like we do when we read, and to make sure that we don’t miss any out.

How many carrots? It can be easier to line objects up to help us count them.
Some children were playing a whiteboard game, counting the underwater creatures in 2s. You need to use 2 fingers to help you. Don’t get tricked if there is 1 more!
We use the Numicon to help us count in 10s. 10,20,30,40!
We should also be recognising small groups of numbers without having to count them. Dice and Numicon are great for this.
We are getting pretty good at representing numbers on our fingers quickly.
