Equal and unequal

RJ have been looking at equal and unequal amounts. Equal means the same as. Miss J covered up some bricks and we got to have a quick peek at them: were there equal amounts or unequal amounts? We checked and then looked the amounts represented as tally marks and the numeral. We noticed if there were more or fewer. Lots of us could recognise how many there were of each colour without counting – this is called subitising – and we are practising this with amounts up to 5.
