Kelvedon Academy Teaching and Learning Council
|Sarah Openshaw- Chair||PCC Governor||Mrs Openshaw is a director appointed by the Church. She works towards building and strengthening the links between the church and school. She is a long standing member of St. Mary’s Church where her focus is on children’s learning. She is a member of the Parochial Church Council. She works locally at a historic house where one of her responsibilities as marketing and PR.|

|Mary Stowers||Ex officio Foundation Governor||I have been a Parochial Church Council Governor for the last 8 years. I have two children who have been attending Kelvedon St. Mary’s Academy over the last 13 years and I am passionate about the school and it’s place within our community. I have watched the school thrive and grow to the outstanding asset it is today.|
I am an administrator of the 11+ test in Essex where I have worked for the last 19 years and have been involved as a volunteer in the Scouting Organisation for the last 6 years.

|Rachel Banning||Appointed by Members of the Academy Trust||Mrs Banning is the Office Manager of a property development company. She has led the governance of teaching, learning and governor development for the past 8 years at Kelvedon.|
In her time with the school she has overseen the transformation of teaching and learning and the year on year high achievements of the school. She was part of the team rated outstanding by the Ofsted in 2016.
She is Secretary of a swimming club which involves organising weekend training camps, galas, presentation ceremonies as well as communicating what is happening within the club.
|Mike Walsh||Headteacher||Mr Walsh is the headteacher at Kelvedon St. Mary’s Primary Academy and has been for 9 years. He has been a headteacher for a total of 12 years.|
He has led the school to academy status, set up a specialist provision for autism and has developed the organisation to become a Multi Academy Trust.
His school is currently rated Outstanding (02/16) by Ofsted.
He is an active member of the management groups of several country wide education groups including teaching school alliances and Mat 2 Mat networks.
He has supported school improvement in eight schools over the past five years.
