Councillors play a vital and active role in helping to improve our school and they have participated in various visits and conferences with other schools. Amongst our many achievements we have:

  • Supported several charities, including Water Aid, Macmillan Cancer, Essex Air Ambulance, Rotary Club’s Shelter Box campaign and End Polio Now, Sport Relief, Farm Africa, NSPCC, Children in Need, RNIB, Operation Christmas Child, Comic Relief, Save-a-Cow, Cancer Research
  • School councillors invited to participate in new venture with Rotary Club – Rota Kids
  • Made Christmas cards to give to elderly people in care homes (Essex Age UK)
  • Liased with PTFA regarding fundraising ideas
  • School Council Tuck shop
  • Flexible lunch and break times
  • New arrival arrangements at the beginning of school day
  • Introduced bands for toy shed
  • New lunchtime and after school clubs
  • New lockers
  • Bean Bags and colourful rug in Library

  • Year 6 councillors ‘School to School Support’ interviews at Alec Hunter Learning Village
  • Flag committee interviewed by Essex Radio and school council visited our flag flying in Parliament Square with Priti Patel, MP
  • 2015 Parliament Flag winners for Essex. Our flag flown at Parliament and Runnymede to celebrate 800th Anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta
  • Flying books display in Library
  • Outdoor Learning (development of Forest schools, outdoor learning opportunities including pond dipping, eco-garden, bug hotel)
