Story Time
First read what you have written so far. Did you manage to include some question marks, exclamation marks and good sentence openers?
You are writing the middle of your story today (the problem and starting to solve it).

In the ‘Mr Silly’ story, the problem was, that Mr Silly needed to come up with an idea that would win the Nonsense cup. He decided to go for a walk to help him think and met some friends along the way.
Write about the problem in your story. How does your character start to solve it? Don’t solve it yet though. Who does your character meet?
Today I would like you to include some speech in your writing. If you have been taught the punctuation rules already then show me what you can remember; if not then just tell me what the characters say to each other or you could draw pictures with speech bubbles.
A Music Task to Follow on
You have used some questions in your writing. Many of the question words begin with the digraph ‘Wh’ ( Who, What, When, Where, Which, Why). These are common words that are often spelt wrong (and get confused with words that begin with ‘W’), so here is a song to help you remember some of the words that begin with ‘wh’ (there are not that many really). It may also help you remember which sentences need to end with a question mark.
- Sing along to the song
- Add your own percussion (make musical instruments out of everyday objects or recycling). Drums, guitars, shakers.
- Choose other ‘wh’ words to replace white, whales, whirl, while, whizzing in the song.
- Use the words but put them to a different tune. (your own melody or maybe an old favourite like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)

3 minute Mr Men Physial Workout

- Mark a starting spot and finishing spot (somewhere where it is safe to run). How many relay runs can you do in 1 minute?

2. Crouch, jump on the spot (like a burpee without the leg kick-out).
How many can you do in 1 minute?

3. Mountain climbers. Get into push up position and bring your right leg toward your chest. Quickly, switch positions of your legs, kicking the right leg back while tucking the left leg under your chest.
