To start off our Maths sessions, RJ sometimes play a game of Odd One Out. We look at some cookies or models and have to work out which one doesn’t belong and why.
It helps us subitise, compare numbers and explore the composition of numbers:
“They are in the Numicon shape so there must be 6”
“There are 3 blue smarties and 2 black smarties on the cookie…3 and 2 are friends to make 5”
“That model has more bricks than the other models….1 more”
